A Christmas Story Cocktail recipe
You've made it to December, congratulations! While we've admittedly been binging Christmas music since the day after Thanksgiving, we know it’s a long way until St. Nick does some light B and E.
In the spirit of gift-giving all month long, we pulled the Yule Shoot Your Rye Out cocktail recipe straight off our Santa’s Luau menu and are sharing it here. Make it at home or saddle up to our bar and we'll do the lift for ya.
Yule Shoot Yer Rye Out
1.5 Ounces Rye Whiskey (we use George Dickel)
.5 Ounces Sweet Vermouth (Dolin)
.5 Ounces Rosemary-Pineapple Syrup*
.25 ounces Cream Sherry (Lustau East India)
1 dash Angostura Bitters
Stir til she's ice cold, strain, serve up in a coupe
Express oil from an orange peel over the top
*Rosemary Pineapple Syrup
Add 1 pound fresh pineapple chunks, 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water to a saucepan
bring up to a boil and reduce to a simmer
add 2 medium sprigs of fresh rosemary and let simmer on low for 10 minutes
allow to cool
strain through a fine mesh sieve
