Urban Farm Adventure: Jazz Wine Dinner with Onward Wines + Hen Of The Wood

We had the hottest table in town hidden in at Half Pint Farm in the heart of Burlington. Chef Eric of Hen of the Wood grilled over fire all night and we were joined by winemaker/farmer/mother/business owner/magic human Faith Armstrong direct from Onward Wines in California. Faith poured her natural, single-vineyard wines to accompany an impressive feast from the infamous culinary team.
Guests met us in the Intervale and enjoyed a stroll under the dense canopy while gentle jazz guitar filled the air. Once we arrived at the farm, Chefs Will and Jordan of Hen of the Woods greeted us with oysters and house charcuterie. Guests sipped an aperitif cocktail made from one of Faith’s wines and enjoyed lawn games before we made our way to main event.
After tiring ourselves out chasing the badminton shuttlecock, we settled into a long table in the middle of flower-filled rows at Half Pint Farm. Chef Eric will be plated playful dishes inspired by the early summer produce picked right on the farm, complemented by (his infamous!) parker house rolls and hot-off-the-grill meats.
Jazz guitar floated through the air again as we gorged ourselves on Faith’s incredible Zinfandel and Eric’s perfectly cooked steak. A champagne tour baited us away from the table to get in the perfect position for sunset--with a sparkling wine and dessert in hand, of course. The minds (and palates!) of Faith, Eric and Sas styled our guests' out as we kicked off the official start of summer!
